I have always loved cover songs, most specifically cover songs that I end up liking even better than their original. During many of my my interviews with bands, one of my favorite questions I ask is if they could take a song from any other genre and turn it into their own, what would it be? I have had some great responses, like Jettblack rockers doing a cover of Tina Turner’s “We Don’t Need Another Hero“, or Wratchchild doing a cover of the Beach Boys, “California Girls” or A Story Beneath doing a cover of the Mamas and the Papas, “California Dreamin“. Those are all remakes that I hope get made. What I really like is when an artists takes the original song and completely makes it their own, truly owns it and not just imitates. Haven’t you ever heard a remake where you are singing the lyrics and then it comes to you, that this is a remake of an old familiar song, just made completely different. Well here is my list of my Favorite Cover Songs: (We will continue to keep adding!
Let me know if there are any of your favorite cover songs too.

Dr. Beardface & the Spaceman’s cover of “Anything, Anything (I’ll Give You)”, originally by Dramarama, is killer, and they have a female singer so it’s got a different sound than the original. I actually like it more than the original, which is saying alot cause the original song rocks!
Where is Distribed ‘s Sound of Silence!
I’ve really enjoyed your cover music pics! Well done! But it’s old, now is 2018. Is there updated version of this list for the recent year or at least 2017?
Yes, we had an updated version but when we lost the business and home in the Oct. 17 fire, a lot of our content is gone. We will work on getting a newer one up soon.
DevilDriver does an awesome remake of ‘Sail’ by AWOLnation….they also do ‘Ghost Riders in The Sky’ which is just outta this world…..Dez Fafara has a talent for putting a unique metal spin on the covers they do.
Our cover of an Elvis Costello’s song from Imperial Bedroom, The long honey moon

Okay, I’m pretty sure no one is reading these comments anymore since the last one was July of 2019. But what the hell. I’d like to share Carry-On Bands version of the 1969 Ronettes single Be My Baby.
